What was in the stone bowl ($8.80++):
- Hot stone bowl with rice base + arranged toppings:
- Spicy gochujang-marinated pork (top).
- Julienned carrot + cucumber + spinach + sesame seeds + mushrooms + corn.
- Sunny-side egg with runny yolk on top.
- Side seaweed soup + kimchi banchan (top dishes).
Dolsot bibimbap (돌솥비빔밥) = stone-bowl bibimbap. The bowl is preheated to scorching so the rice gets a crispy bottom layer (nurungji) while you mix in the toppings + gochujang. Eating ritual: stir vigorously, the rice crisps further from the heat.
Overall: 4.1 / 5. Stone bowl gave the proper crispy rice bottom, pork was spicy-marinated, runny yolk binds everything, kimchi sided well. Standard Korean execution. 😋👍🏼
