Bangkok brunch — Premium pancake (THB $295)!

Bangkok holiday brunch with BB — first morning of the trip and we kicked it off properly with a premium pancake stack at one of the trendier cafes in the Sukhumvit area.

We ordered:

The pancakes were the Japanese soufflé-style — three thick puffy discs the size of an espresso saucer, golden-brown on top, jiggly when you nudged them with a fork. The kind of pancake that needs a few minutes to set after coming off the griddle so the eggy interior holds its shape.

Texture was the headline: airy, almost like baked custard, with that slight wobble that says someone whipped the egg whites properly. Top of the stack came with a swirl of mascarpone-style cream, a few slices of strawberry, blueberries, a dust of icing sugar, and a small pot of warm maple syrup on the side to drizzle yourself.

Each bite combined the soft pancake, sweet cream, fruit acid, and maple syrup. Decadent but not heavy — the airy texture means you can finish the stack without feeling like you’re done with food for the day.

At THB $295 (~SGD $13) this is fair Bangkok cafe pricing — comparable spots in Singapore charge double for the same item.

Bangkok cafe culture is its own thing — air-conditioned, photogenic, packed with tourists and local instagrammers in equal measure.

Overall: 4.5 / 5. 😋👍🏼 Strong Bangkok brunch — would queue again.
