TGIF western pub dinner in Holland Village ($46)!
Fish & chips, pulled pork burger and two pints of draft lager at a Holland Village western pub. $46 for two — proper TGIF wind-down.
Friday night called for cold beer and pub food. Headed down to Holland Village and grabbed a corner table at one of the western pubs to wind the week down. 🍺😋
What landed on the table:
- Two pints of draft lager — ice-cold, golden, a thick head of foam. The first sip after a long week always tastes the best.
- Fish & chips — three thick fillets of fish battered crispy and golden, served with a heap of fries, a side of creamy coleslaw (the purple cabbage kind), a quenelle of tartar sauce and lemon wedges to squeeze over. Fish was flaky and clean, batter shattered satisfyingly.
- Pulled pork burger — slow-cooked pulled pork piled into a soft brioche bun with crunchy purple slaw, a sprig of parsley on top, side of golden fries. Sweet, smoky, messy in the best way.
Total: $46 for the two of us with beers. Reasonable for a sit-down Friday dinner with pints.
Overall: 4.3 / 5. Nothing fancy, just classic pub comfort food done properly, in a chill Holland V setting. Exactly what TGIF called for. 🍻😍
