Creamier is one of the homegrown artisanal ice cream names that helped kick off Singapore’s local-scoop scene, and the Toa Payoh original is the cosy little parlour where it started. The draw is small-batch ice cream with proper local-leaning flavours (the Earl Grey Lavender and the Sea Salt Gula Melaka are the cult picks), scooped onto a cone, cup or warm waffle.
The distinctive imbalance in scoop sizes 😛 (one always seems more generous than the other, all part of the charm).
The Tuesday 1-for-1 promotion running in October 2018 was the reason to come on a weeknight: two scoops for the price of one makes the artisanal pricing far easier to justify, and it is the perfect excuse to bring someone along and try double the flavours. We worked through the rotation across a couple of visits, and the texture, dense, creamy, properly churned, was the consistent winner.
