Holiday breakfast plate!

What we had:

It was a simple, generous plate: a big mound of soft scrambled eggs, two strips of crispy streaky bacon, a browned sausage, and a glossy, properly laminated croissant standing in for toast. A slice of fresh tomato and a round of cucumber on the side kept it from feeling too heavy.
The croissant was the nice surprise, flaky and buttery enough to tear apart and eat on its own, much better than the usual square of white toast you get with a breakfast like this. The eggs were loose and creamy, the bacon had real crunch, and the single sausage was the savoury anchor of the plate.
Nothing complicated, just a warm, comforting breakfast eaten with no rush and no plans, which is exactly the point of a holiday morning.
