Cold mocha ($7.50); Cold brew coffee ($6.50); Vanilla salted caramel cake ($8)!
Saturday cafe — cold mocha + cold brew + vanilla salted caramel cake. Cold coffee + cake spread.
A cafe afternoon with BB, going cold for the weather: cold mocha ($7.50) + cold brew coffee ($6.50) + vanilla salted caramel cake ($8). ☕🍰😋
What was on the table ($22):
- A cold mocha.
- A cold brew coffee.
- A slice of vanilla salted caramel cake.
The two cold coffees made a nice contrast. The cold mocha is the indulgent one, espresso with chocolate and milk over ice, basically a chocolate-coffee treat that drinks almost like dessert. The cold brew is the purist’s pick: coffee steeped slow in cold water for many hours, which pulls out a smooth, naturally sweet, low-acid cup with none of the bitterness you sometimes get from iced coffee. One for indulgence, one for a clean caffeine hit.
The vanilla salted caramel cake tied the table together: a soft vanilla sponge with salted caramel, that sweet-and-salty combination that’s hard to stop eating, the pinch of salt keeping the caramel from tipping into too-sweet. It paired especially well with the bitter edge of the cold brew.
In Singapore’s heat, cold drinks plus a slice of cake is just about the perfect cafe order, and at $22 for the three it was a relaxed, satisfying weekend stop.
Overall: 4.6 / 5. 😋👍🏼 A smooth low-acid cold brew, an indulgent cold mocha and a moreish salted caramel cake, an easy weekend cafe spread. Would re-visit.
