Dinner before π³π³!
A quick pre-bowling dinner: a plate of fried rice with French toast, spring rolls and fried nuggets, the works before a game.
Fuelling up with BB before a few rounds of bowling π³: a quick, hearty dinner before the game. π
What I had on the plate:
- Fried rice with egg, carrot, peas and a bit of char siew
- French toast triangles
- Crispy spring rolls
- Fried nuggets (sotong/fishcake-style balls)
This was the grab-a-bit-of-everything kind of plate, the sort you pile up before an activity so youβre set for the evening. The fried rice was the comforting base, loose and savoury with that wok-fried fragrance, studded with diced vegetables and a little sweet char siew.
Around it were all the crispy bits that make a plate fun: golden spring rolls with a crunchy shell, fried nuggets that were hot and crisp, and the slightly unexpected but very welcome French toast triangles, a little sweet-savoury treat alongside everything else.
It is not fancy, just a satisfying, filling spread to set you up before a game, the kind of casual mixed plate you happily clear before heading off to bowl. Hits the brief perfectly: tasty, quick and enough to keep you going.
Overall: 4.5 / 5. πππΌ A hearty mix of fried rice, spring rolls and crispy bits, the perfect pre-bowling fuel-up. Would re-do.
