Catching happy hour before the Friday crowd is one of life’s small pleasures, and these came in those tall 1664 Blanc glasses, hazy golden with a frothy white head. 1664 Blanc is the French wheat beer, light and easy-drinking with a soft citrus note and a hint of coriander, refreshing and not too bitter, the kind of beer that goes down dangerously easily after a long week.
At $10 a pint during happy hour it was a fair pour for a sit-down bar, and there is something nice about clinking glasses across the table when the work week is winding down. Cold, crisp and exactly what an end-of-week unwind calls for.
