Long black ($5) & Flat white ($5.50)!
A cafe coffee run: a clean long black and a flat white with a tidy rosetta, in bright orange cups. $10.50 for both.
A morning coffee run with BB: a long black ($5) and a flat white ($5.50), served in those cheery orange cups. βπ
What we had ($10.50 total):
- Long black ($5): espresso pulled over hot water, dark and crema-topped
- Flat white ($5.50): with a neat little rosetta poured on top
The long black was the one to drink black, no milk, no sugar. Pulling the shot over the water keeps the crema intact, so it stayed strong and aromatic without tipping into bitter. Good for actually tasting the coffee.
The flat white was the cosy one. Espresso under a thin layer of silky steamed milk, less foam than a cappuccino, so it drinks smooth and the coffee still comes through. The rosetta was tidy, always a nice sign the milk was steamed properly to that glossy microfoam rather than big bubbles.
At around $5 a cup it sits at the usual specialty-cafe rate, fair for carefully pulled shots and latte art that actually shows up.
Overall: 4.6 / 5. πππΌ A clean long black and a smooth flat white, simple coffees done right. Would re-order.
