Signature honey toast, white coffee, black coffee (RM$27)!
A cafe afternoon at Good Coffee (GC) in Malaysia: signature honey toast with ice cream and a honey shot, plus a white coffee and a black coffee. RM$27.
A cafe afternoon across the border with BB, at Good Coffee (GC): their signature honey toast, a white coffee and a black coffee, all for RM$27 (around SGD$9.30 at 2019 rates). π
What we had:
- Signature honey toast with two scoops of vanilla ice cream, whipped cream and a little shot of honey to pour over
- White coffee (the milky one)
- Black coffee
The honey toast is the showpiece, a thick block of buttery toast cubed into a hollow square, toasted crisp and golden on the outside while staying soft within. You crown it with the ice cream, add the whipped cream, then drizzle over that warm honey shot so it soaks into the bread. Hot, buttery toast against cold, melting ice cream is the whole joy of it, and it is very much a dessert to share.
On the drinks, the white coffee was the smoother, rounder cup, milky and easy, while the black coffee kept things bracing and aromatic to balance out all that sweetness. The pairing worked: rich dessert, then a clean sip of coffee to reset.
Best of all was the price. RM$27 for a proper shared dessert and two coffees is the kind of value that makes a Malaysia cafe stop so worth it, easily half what the same would cost back home.
Overall: 4.7 / 5. πππΌ Buttery honey toast with ice cream and good coffee, lovely value at RM$27. Would re-visit.
