McDonald’s rotates its McFlurry collabs, and the Hershey’s one is worth catching while it is around. It is built on the familiar McDonald’s vanilla soft serve, smooth and cold, but the mix-in is the point: Hershey’s chocolate syrup swirled through with crumbled cookie bits scattered all the way down the cup.
The Hershey’s syrup makes it noticeably more chocolatey than the standard chocolate McFlurry, that rich, slightly nostalgic Hershey’s flavour cutting through the vanilla, while the cookie crumbs add little hits of crunch so it is not all soft. The trick, as always, is to keep stirring as you go so the chocolate and cookie stay mixed through rather than settling at the top.
Nothing fancy, just a reliable, satisfying chocolate fix for $3.20, and a fun one with the Hershey’s twist. The kind of thing to grab on a whim and eat on the walk home.
