Wednesday phase-2 home lunch — rice, eggs, vegetables. Mid-week kitchen routine continuing into October.
Wednesday mid-week lunch at home with BB — the standard weekday plate continues.
Today’s plate:
- Hot rice base
- Fried egg (sunny-side)
- Stir-fried vegetables
- Pan-seared protein
- Chilli sauce on the side
The Wednesday lunch sits at the mid-week peak of the work rotation.
Hot rice base was the standard fluffy jasmine. Properly steamed in the cooker.
Fried egg was the M-style sunny-side. Crispy white edges, runny golden yolk.
Stir-fried vegetables today were cabbage shreds with carrot strips, smashed garlic and a splash of soy.
Pan-seared protein was a small portion of sausage rounds — sliced Bratwurst, hit in its rendered fat.
Chilli sauce on the side as always.
We sat at the kitchen counter, drank coffee from the V60, ate slow. The mid-morning quiet of working-from-home meant we could pause and eat without the lunch rush.
The Wednesday home lunch is the small structural marker of the work week’s middle. Q4 was rolling in, the year approaching its final stretch.
