Monday lunch at home with BB — first Monday of October, the steady weekday rotation continues into Q4.

Today’s plate:

The Monday lunch is the start-of-week reset meal after the weekend. After Sunday’s home spaghetti bolognese, Monday returns to the simple Asian-style home plate.

Hot rice base was the standard fluffy jasmine.

Fried egg was the M-style sunny-side. Crispy white edges, runny golden yolk.

Stir-fried vegetables today were cabbage shreds with carrot strips, smashed garlic and a splash of soy.

Pan-seared protein was a small portion of sausage rounds.

Chilli sauce on the side as always.

We sat at the kitchen counter, drank coffee from the V60, ate slow. The work-from-home Monday rhythm had become genuinely automatic.

The home weekday lunch had become the cost-effective baseline that anchored the work week. Some lockdown habits earn their permanence post-reopening; this routine sits firmly on the keeper list.
