Sunday's brunch!

Sunday November phase-2 home brunch — rice, eggs, vegetables. Steady weekend kitchen routine continuing into year-end.

Sunday's brunch!

Sunday brunch at home with BB — first Sunday of November, the weekend home brunch routine continues into the year-end stretch.

Today’s plate:

The November Sunday brunch had the same shape as every other Sunday brunch this year.

Hot rice base was the standard fluffy jasmine.

Fried egg was the M-style sunny-side.

Stir-fried vegetables today were cabbage shreds with carrot strips, smashed garlic and a splash of soy.

Pan-seared protein was a small portion of sausage rounds.

Chilli sauce on the side as always.

We sat at the kitchen table, drank coffee from the V60, ate slow. The November weather was easing into the cooler end of the year, which meant the kitchen got a touch warmer than the apartment ambient during cooking.

Two months left until 2021. The home Sunday brunch had become one of the small steady anchors of 2020 — a year that had needed steady anchors more than most.

Some lockdown habits earn their permanence post-reopening. The home Sunday brunch sits firmly at the top of that list.

Overall: 4.3 / 5. 😋👍🏼 Reliable Sunday brunch — keeping the routine.
