Thursday's brunch ($153.01)!

Thursday phase-2 sit-down brunch — $153.01 substantial restaurant spread. Continued return-to-dine-in indulgence.

Thursday's brunch ($153.01)!

Thursday brunch with BB — another sit-down splurge at $153.01. Two days after Wednesday’s $105 brunch, we apparently weren’t done with the return-to-dine-in indulgence and committed to another substantial restaurant spread.

We ordered (sit-down brunch with extras):

Total: $153.01 for the spread.

The $153.01 puts this brunch firmly into “occasion” pricing — almost 50% more than Wednesday’s bill. The difference is the size of the order: we went heavier on the sides, ordered specialty drinks beyond just the standard coffee-and-juice, and committed to two desserts because the menu had two desserts we couldn’t decide between.

Mains were the foundation. Both were ambitious restaurant-tier brunch plates — one a multi-component plate with a protein, eggs done multiple ways, and a substantial carb base; the other an upscale fusion dish with a less-common protein and elaborate plating.

Shared sides multiplied the variety. We ordered the truffle mushrooms, a side of fries, a quinoa salad, and a small plate of olives. Each side dish was its own small dish that the kitchen had clearly put effort into.

Drinks expanded the range. Beyond the standard coffee and juice, we tried a specialty matcha-based drink and a cold-brew float. The kind of beverages we wouldn’t normally order but committed to because the restaurant had a real beverage program.

Two desserts because we couldn’t decide — one chocolate-leaning, one fruit-leaning. Shared between us.

$153.01 for the brunch is in upper-tier restaurant pricing. Two consecutive days of sit-down brunches at this level is firmly indulgent.

The honest take: by Thursday we’d peaked on the return-to-dine-in indulgence. Friday’s plan was to scale back. Lockdown habits eased, but the home kitchen wasn’t fully out of the rotation.

Overall: 4.2 / 5. 😋👍🏼 Substantial Thursday brunch — would tone down the frequency.
