An Shun Seafood Soup (安顺海鲜汤) — fried fish bee hoon soup ($9)!
An Shun Seafood Soup at Hougang — milky fried fish bee hoon soup with separated crispy fried fish chunks on the side, chilli dip. $9.
Lunch — An Shun Seafood Soup (安顺海鲜汤) fried fish bee hoon at Hougang for $9. 😋
What was on the tray ($9):
- Milky white fish broth in red bowl with thin bee hoon, minced meat, fried shallots, greens.
- Crispy fried fish chunks served SEPARATELY in a black bowl on the side — keeps the batter crispy.
- Two small chilli dipping sauce ramekins.
The separate-bowl serving is the smart move — most fish bee hoon stalls dump the fried fish into the soup immediately (= soggy batter by the time you eat). An Shun keeps them apart so you eat the fish crispy + the soup separately, or dip-and-go.
Overall: 4.3 / 5. Crispy fish stayed crispy thanks to separation, milky broth had proper fish bone depth, chilli dip added kick. Smart hawker engineering. 😋👍🏼
