Kronenbourg 1664 blanc (HH: $10 nett each) & Fritto misto ($22++)!
Sunday happy-hour stretch — ice-cold Kronenbourg 1664 Blanc at $10 nett each and a generous fritto misto for $22++. The right way to end a long weekend.
Sunday late-afternoon happy hour with BB. We were after a slow drinks-and-nibbles slot rather than a full sit-down dinner, and the happy hour Kronenbourg + fritto misto combo turned out to be exactly the move.
We ordered:
- Kronenbourg 1664 Blanc (HH price) — $10 nett each (we had a couple)
- Fritto misto — $22++
Kronenbourg 1664 Blanc is the easy-drinking wheat beer for our weather — cloudy pour, citrusy coriander finish, low bitterness. At $10 nett during happy hour you save almost half versus regular pricing, which makes it a no-brainer when you’re settling in for an hour or two.
Fritto misto came as the classic mixed seafood basket — battered squid rings, prawns, whitebait, slices of fish, all golden-brown crisp without going greasy. Wedge of lemon and a little aioli on the side. The portion was generous enough that we didn’t need a separate main.
The happy hour math is what makes it work: two beers at HH plus the fritto comes in well under a regular dinner bill. Sunday afternoon happy hours hit different — the crowd is relaxed, no work-tomorrow tension, just people stretching out the weekend.
Overall: 4.5 / 5. 😋👍🏼 Excellent HH stretch — would absolutely do this combo again.
