Orh Nee Cake from LUNA ($80)!
A jaw-dropping orh nee (yam paste) cake from LUNA — yam mousse, coconut sago pearls, fresh cream, edible gold leaf. A birthday treat that delivered. $80.
A birthday occasion called for something special — and LUNA delivered an orh nee cake that was almost too pretty to slice into. 🎂😍
What was on the cake ($80):
- A yam paste (orh nee) base hidden under a tall cream dome.
- The top exploded with piped fresh cream peaks — alternating between white vanilla cream and pale yam-purple cream.
- Scattered all over: cute white pearl crisps clustered like little eggs, dustings of desiccated coconut standing in for snow, and tiny flakes of edible gold leaf for sparkle.
- A little LUNA gold-rimmed tag crowned the top, in case you forgot how fancy this was.
Cake was as good as it looked — the yam mousse inside was smooth, fragrant, properly orh nee — not overly sweet, with the nutty taro flavour coming through clean. Coconut on top added texture and tropical warmth.
Total: $80 — pricey for a cake, but worth it for occasions like this.
Overall: 4.5 / 5. The Insta-worthy looks AND legit orh nee taste — rare combination. Already considering this for the next birthday. 🥳👍🏼
