Pandan chiffon cake + Joy Luck Teahouse Milo yuan yang ($1.80 + $4.30)!
Office teabreak — pandan chiffon cake ($1.80) and Joy Luck Teahouse (歡樂冰室) HK-style Milo yuan yang ($4.30).
Office afternoon teabreak — picked up pandan chiffon cake + Joy Luck Teahouse Milo yuan yang to fuel the rest of the workday. 😋
What was on the desk:
- A wedge of pandan chiffon cake ($1.80) — pale green, fluffy, airy, with that signature pandan-coconut fragrance. Wrapped in waxed paper in the old-school bakery way.
- A red-print Joy Luck Teahouse (歡樂冰室) paper cup with HK-style Milo Yuan Yang ($4.30) — half Milo + half coffee, classic HK kopitiam combo. The cup featured a colourful HK skyline design and the gold seal logo.
The chiffon was the standout — soft enough to pull apart with fingers, pandan-fragrant without being artificial. The Milo Yuan Yang was rich, slightly thick, the kind of drink that wakes up the senses.
Total: $6.10 combined.
Overall: Pandan chiffon 4.5 / 5, Milo yuan yang 4 / 5. Chiffon was textbook — light, springy, fragrant. The yuan yang was solid but the Milo profile dominated the coffee a bit. Office teabreak win. 😍👍🏼
