Thursday afternoon — back at the same Orchard artisan gelato spot for round two of the February 2020 1-for-1 promo. BB and I are not going to let this promo expire without maximising it.

Pistachio & Candied Pecan was the comfort pick — actual ground pistachio, not a paste-and-essence shortcut, with a nutty bitter edge that the candied pecan chunks cut through with sweet crunch. The kind of scoop you don’t get tired of even after the first few spoons.
Strawberry Tomato Sorbet was the curiosity pick. Sounds wild on paper but the combination actually leans into a savoury-fruity territory — sweet strawberry up front, a faint herbaceous tomato note on the finish that gives the sorbet a Bloody-Mary-without-the-vodka effect. Refreshing rather than weird. The sorbet base meant it was lighter than the dense gelato pistachio, which kept the pairing balanced.
Eating them in alternating spoonfuls was the right move again — cream against fruit, nut against tomato.
At $7 for two scoops via 1-for-1, this is genuine Orchard-area steal pricing. Full retail would put each cone north of $7 alone.
Overall: 4.3 / 5. 😋👍🏼 Strong pair, fun curiosity flavour — would happily come back next promo month.
