Tuesday lunch at McDonald’s Boon Keng with BB. The twister fries CNY promo is about to disappear and we’re closing out the last few before they pull them from the menu.
We ordered:
- Twister fries
- 6-piece McNuggets
- McWings (3-piece)
- Coke
Twister fries are the headliner, like every other twister-fries post we’ve ever written. Long, curly, dusted in that paprika-salt seasoning that’s stronger and smokier than the regular fries. Crisp outside, soft potato inside, designed for eating one at a time so you stretch the box. We always grab an extra portion.
McNuggets are the rock-solid base. 6-piece with curry sauce and a side of sweet & sour from the holder rack — same dependable nugget that’s been on the menu my whole life.
McWings are the underrated McDonald’s order. Three pieces of crispy fried chicken wings — proper drumlets and mid-wings, golden batter, salty and a little spiced. Honestly more interesting than the nuggets if you’re eating both at once.
Coke was a standard Coke, ice-heavy as always — it’s basically a flavoured ice water at McDonald’s, but no one’s expecting different.
Boon Keng McDonald’s at lunch is the kind of suburban outlet with a steady neighbourhood flow, queue moves fast, dining room has open tables.
