Yoshinoya spring onion gyudon + chicken karaage combo (M: $11.30)!
Yoshinoya combo set — spring onion and half-boiled egg gyudon, chicken karaage side and iced tea. M-size: $11.30.
Back at Yoshinoya again, but with a twist this time — went for the spring onion + half-boiled egg gyudon with a side of chicken karaage combo (M). $11.30. 😋
What was in the combo ($11.30 M-size):
- The gyudon (beef bowl) with an upgrade: a mountain of chopped spring onions piled high over the beef and onions, with a tangy dark sauce drizzled on top. Bright, fresh, way more aromatic than the standard gyudon.
- A small dish with a soft-boiled egg (温泉蛋) — to crack onto the rice for that silky yolk-coating effect.
- A side bowl of chicken karaage — Japanese-style fried chicken bites, light batter, juicy chunks inside.
- A tall cup of iced tea to wash it all down.
Cracked the egg over the gyudon, mixed everything — the spring onions cut through the sweet beef and the yolk turned the whole bowl into a glaze. Karaage on the side was the perfect crunchy contrast.
Total: $11.30. Pricier than the standard gyudon but worth it for the karaage upgrade.
Overall: 4.3 / 5. Spring onion topping made the standard gyudon feel completely different — fresher, less heavy. Karaage stayed crispy. A solid upgrade combo when the cravings need more. 😍👍🏼
