7 spiced chai latte ($6) & Flat white ($5)!
A cafe afternoon: a spiced chai latte dusted with cinnamon, and a flat white with a tidy leaf in the foam. $6 and $5.
A cosy cafe afternoon with BB and two very different cups: a 7 spiced chai latte ($6) and a flat white ($5). βπ
What we had:
- 7 spiced chai latte ($6): served in a glass with a cinnamon stick on the side
- Flat white ($5): in a black cup, poured with a neat leaf
The chai latte was the comforting, aromatic one. A spiced black-tea base whisked into steamed milk, it came warm and fragrant with all those layered spices: cardamom, cinnamon, clove, ginger and pepper weaving together so each sip is sweet, milky and gently warming, with a little hit of heat at the back. The cinnamon stick to stir with was a nice touch. A proper hug in a glass.
The flat white was the coffee-loverβs order. A short, strong pour of espresso under a thin layer of silky steamed milk, less foamy than a latte and more concentrated, so the coffee really comes through. The tidy leaf poured on top is always a good sign the milk was steamed to that glossy microfoam.
One spiced and soothing, one bold and creamy, a lovely pair to slow down a weekend afternoon over.
Overall: 4.6 / 5. πππΌ A fragrant spiced chai and a smooth, strong flat white, the best of tea and coffee in one sitting. Would re-order.
