A gentle wind-down at a cafe with BB: a pot of chamomile tea, $6+. π΅
What I had:
- Chamomile tea, served in a little teapot with a glass cup
After something heavy, this was just what I wanted. Chamomile is a caffeine-free herbal tisane brewed from dried chamomile flowers, and it pours out a pale golden colour with that soft, floral-honey aroma and a faintly apple-like sweetness. It is mellow and soothing, the sort of cup that makes you slow down and breathe out.
Coming as a proper pot rather than a single mug was a nice touch, since it meant a few unhurried refills while we sat and chatted, the tea getting a touch stronger and more fragrant with each pour. There was even a tiny iced-gem biscuit tucked on the side. Being caffeine-free, it is the drink to order when you want the cafe ritual without the buzz, perfect for a late-afternoon lull.
Nothing complicated, just a calming, fragrant pot of tea, and at $6 a fair price for somewhere comfortable to linger.
Overall: 4.5 / 5. πππΌ A soothing, floral pot of chamomile, lovely for slowing down. Would re-order.
