What we had:
- Hokkaido chizu mango: a thick mango base topped with a Hokkaido cream cheese cap
- Ruby grapefruit green tea: ruby grapefruit over green tea, with fruit bits
The Hokkaido chizu mango was the indulgent one. Under the lid sat a salty-sweet cheese cap, that frothy cream-cheese layer you sip the drink through, so each mouthful mixes the savoury, slightly salty cream with the bright, sunny mango underneath. The contrast is what makes cheese tea so addictive, and using the richer Hokkaido cream cheese made it taste extra smooth.
The ruby grapefruit green tea was the lighter, more refreshing pick. The green tea base kept it clean and a touch grassy, while the ruby grapefruit gave it a pretty pink-orange colour and a tart, slightly bitter citrus lift, with real fruit bits at the bottom. A good one for when you want something less sweet.
A fun pairing of rich and refreshing, and at $6.70 for both on the deal, hard to argue with.
