Winding down the evening with BB over a couple of cold Kronenbourg 1664 Blanc, $7 each. ๐Ÿบ๐Ÿ˜‹

What we had ($14 for two):

This is one of my easy go-to beers. 1664 Blanc is a wheat beer (witbier-style), so it pours that lovely hazy, pale-gold cloudy colour, the giveaway of the unfiltered wheat, with a frothy white head on top. It is brewed with coriander and a hint of citrus, which gives it a soft, fragrant, gently fruity aroma.

It drinks light and smooth: crisp and refreshing, barely bitter, with that faint citrus note keeping it bright rather than heavy. That makes it a great after-dinner beer, the kind you can sip happily when you are full and just want something cool and pleasant, without a big, bitter or roasty beer weighing you down.

Clinking two frosty glasses of it to round off the night was just the ticket. It is approachable and crowd-pleasing, the sort of beer that suits pretty much any easygoing evening, and on a warm night it really hits the spot.

Overall: 4.5 / 5. ๐Ÿ˜‹๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ Cloudy, citrusy and refreshing, an easy-drinking wheat beer to wind down with. Would re-order.
