This is the kind of drink that looks as good as it tastes, the clear cup crammed with real fruit so you can see the orange and lemon wheels, strawberry and kiwi all the way down. It is a proper fresh-fruit tea rather than just syrup and flavouring.
The base is an oolong tea, which is a good choice: that toasty, semi-fermented character gives it more body and aroma than a plain green tea, and it stands up to all the fruit rather than getting lost. Steeped with the fresh fruit, the tea turns lightly sweet, citrusy and fragrant, with the orange and lemon giving it a bright, juicy lift. You can chew on the fruit pieces as you go too.
It is refreshing and not too sweet, the sort of cup you want on a hot day. With real fruit and a good tea base, it felt like a quality drink, and at $5.80 on the deal it was great value.
