What we had:
- A bowl of two scoops: speculoos and lemon meringue
The two flavours played off each other nicely. The speculoos scoop was the rich, cosy one, that caramelised, cinnamon-spiced Biscoff-cookie flavour churned into ice cream, with little crumbly bits running through it for texture. It tastes like the brown-sugary edge of a baked biscuit, warm and comforting even when cold.
The lemon meringue was the bright, zingy counterpoint: sharp lemon-curd tang balanced by a sweet, soft meringue note, so it finished clean rather than heavy. Spooning the two together, the tart lemon cut straight through the caramel richness of the speculoos, which is exactly why they work side by side.
Nothing elaborate, just two well-made scoops, one indulgent and one refreshing. At $8.85 it was a tidy little treat to round off the evening.
Overall: 4.6 / 5. πππΌ Caramelised speculoos and zingy lemon meringue, a lovely sweet-and-tart pairing. Would re-order.
