Sunday's zi char dinner after πΈ!
A hearty zi char dinner after badminton: braised chicken in gravy, hotplate egg tofu with prawns, glossy pork ribs, egg-gravy seafood and stir-fried greens.
A hearty zi char dinner with BB after our Sunday badminton, the best part of a sweaty game is the big meal after. πΈπ
What we shared:
- Braised chicken in a savoury gravy with garlic and coriander
- Hotplate egg tofu with prawns in a sweet-savoury sauce
- Pork ribs in a glossy dark sauce
- An egg-gravy seafood dish with vegetables
- Stir-fried kailan
After running around the court for an hour, this spread hit the spot. The hotplate egg tofu with prawns was the showstopper, soft silky egg tofu and plump prawns sizzling in a sweet, savoury sauce, the kind of dish you fight over the last piece of. The pork ribs were the sticky, moreish one, tender meat in a glossy dark sauce you want to gnaw clean off the bone.
The braised chicken was the comforting centrepiece, tender and falling off the bone in a clear savoury gravy, lovely spooned over rice. The egg-gravy dish brought that smooth, silky texture with bits of seafood and vegetable through it, and the stir-fried kailan was the crunchy green to keep everything balanced.
A proper post-game feast, the kind that makes you feel you earned every bite after all that running. This is exactly why Sunday badminton always ends at a zi char table.
Overall: 4.5 / 5. πππΌ A hearty post-badminton spread, that sizzling egg tofu with prawns was the winner. Would re-do.
