Old-school coffee break — kopi, soya bean & buttered buns ($5.70)!
A proper kopitiam coffee break: hot kopi, an ice-cold soya bean drink and two thick split buns with butter and sugar. $5.70 for the lot.
Sometimes the best afternoon break is just kopi and bread. Pulled in for an old-school coffee break and got exactly what we asked for. ☕
What was on the table:
- Hot kopi (传统咖啡) — strong, milky, just the right amount of sweet. Served in a tiny porcelain cup with a metal spoon, the way they always do.
- Iced soya bean — cold, fresh, slightly nutty. Perfect contrast to the hot kopi.
- Buttered buns — two massive halves of a fluffy bun, the inside toasted golden with butter and sugar melted in. The kind of carb that makes you slow down and savour every bite.
Total: $5.70 for all of that. Try finding this elsewhere.
Overall: 4.5 / 5. Honest, comforting, classic SG kopitiam vibes. The buns alone were worth it. 😍👍🏼
