Iced tea and Iced coffee ($2.20 each)!

Golden Mile kopitiam iced teh and kopi peng at $2.20 each — strong, sweet, no-nonsense local drinks to break up the morning.

Iced tea and Iced coffee ($2.20 each)!

Tuesday morning quick stop at a Golden Mile kopitiam with BB. Sometimes you just want a proper local iced tea and iced coffee, not a $7 latte.

We ordered:

The teh peng was the classic — brewed strong with sock-filter tea, sweetened with condensed milk, dumped over a tall cup of ice so it dilutes just enough by the time you finish. Rich without being syrupy. The kopi peng came with that proper Singapore robusta bite — a little smoky, a little bitter under the sweet, with the condensed milk doing its job.

Both stayed cold for the walk back. At $2.20 each this is the kind of stop-and-go local-cafe move that beats any chain coffee for value and honestly tastes better in our weather.

Golden Mile kopitiams have that no-fuss old-school energy — uncle behind the counter, tiles wet from rinsing cups, the whole place buzzing with breakfast-meeting chatter and the clatter of toasted bread getting plated. Always a small comfort to drop in.

Overall: 4.4 / 5. 😋👍🏼 Reliable, cheap, exactly what we wanted that morning.
