King of Fried Rice — Pork cutlet egg fried rice ($6.50)!
King of Fried Rice — pork cutlet egg fried rice with grilled pork chop slices on golden egg fried rice. $6.50.
Lunch at King of Fried Rice — went for the pork cutlet egg fried rice at $6.50. The fried rice + slab of grilled pork combo that won them their following. 😋
What was on the speckled plate ($6.50):
- A bed of golden egg fried rice — properly wok-tossed, each grain coated in egg with that signature buttery-yolk fragrance, chopped scallions distributed throughout.
- Five thick slices of grilled pork cutlet fanned across the rice — caramelised edges with grill marks, rosy pink centre, still juicy.
The rice was the foundation but the pork cutlet stole the show — crispy outside, tender inside, properly seasoned with a hint of black pepper. Knife went through clean.
Total: $6.50. Premium hawker pricing but you can see where it goes.
Overall: 4.5 / 5. Fried rice was clearly wok-fired at full heat — proper wok hei. Pork cutlet was generous and well-cooked. King of Fried Rice lives up to the name. Will be back. 😍👍🏼
