Mum's cooking — braised pig trotter, bean sprouts, cabbage!
Family dinner — Mum's signature braised pig trotter in dark sauce, with stir-fried bean sprouts and stir-fried cabbage.
Mum’s cooking again 🙏 — went home for dinner and got the family classics. 😍
What was on the table:
- A claypot of braised pig trotters in a dark soya-vinegar gravy — tender chunks of trotter with the skin and fat layer glistening, slow-cooked till the meat falls off the bone. The kind of dish that needs hours and Mum’s hand.
- A bowl of stir-fried bean sprouts with shredded carrot — light, crunchy, simply seasoned.
- A bowl of stir-fried cabbage with carrot strips — sweet, soft, comforting.
Mum’s braised trotters always taste better than any restaurant version — the dark soya-vinegar balance was on point, slightly tangy, slightly sweet. The veggies kept it balanced.
Total: home dinner with love.
Overall: family meal beats every restaurant. Thanks Mum 🙏. 😍👍🏼
