排骨小虾米粉面 (pork ribs + prawns noodles) at a Chinatown hawker (M: $9)!
Pork ribs + small prawns mee fun (米粉面) at a Chinatown hawker — bee hoon and yellow mee mixed in dark broth with braised pork ribs, prawns and bean sprouts. Medium: $9.
Office lunch at a Chinatown hawker — went for the 排骨小虾米粉面 (pork ribs + small prawns mee fun mian). Medium size, $9. 😋
What was in the orange bowl ($9 medium):
- A mix of thin bee hoon (rice vermicelli) + yellow mee (egg noodles) swimming together in a clean clear-brown broth.
- A generous spread of braised pork rib chunks with that signature dark herbal flavour — fall-off-the-bone tender.
- Plump prawns (peeled, no shells) scattered around the bowl.
- A pile of bean sprouts for the green crunch.
The broth was the headline — looked deceptively clear but had real pork-rib depth. Bee hoon + mee combo lets you alternate textures within the same bowl.
Total: $9 for the medium portion. (Hawker bowl that’s still generous.)
Overall: 4.2 / 5. Pork ribs were tender, prawns fresh, broth had real simmer depth. The two-noodle combo was the right call. 😍👍🏼
