Wanton mee with chilli wanton side via GrabFood ($20.70)!
Wanton mee delivered via GrabFood — two portions of dry wanton mee with char siew, fried wantons and a side tub of Sichuan-style chilli oil wantons. $20.70.
WFH lunch with BB — ordered wanton mee + a chilli wanton side via GrabFood. $20.70 total. 😋
What was on the table ($20.70):
- Two portions of dry wanton mee — springy thin egg noodles in pickled chilli-tinted sauce, with slices of red-edged char siew, blanched choy sum and two big crispy fried wantons on each.
- A side tub of chilli oil wantons (红油抄手) — soft boiled pork wantons swimming in a fragrant red Sichuan chilli oil sauce with bits of sesame and garlic. Spicy, savoury, addictive.
The dry noodles + fried wantons combo was the comfort base. The chilli oil wantons were the spicy bonus — properly numbing-spicy with the Sichuan style.
Total: $20.70 via GrabFood for two portions + side.
Overall: 4.3 / 5. Noodles held up well via delivery, wantons stayed crispy. Chilli oil wantons were the show-stealer though — proper Sichuan-style spicy. Will reorder. 😍👍🏼
