216 Bedok Food & Hawker Centre!
A hawker hop at 216 Bedok: Hon Ni Kitchen nasi lemak (mostly sold out by 1pm) and 137 Lor Mee's fried fish lor mee ($3) with its crispy fried fish.
A hawker hop at 216 Bedok North Food & Hawker Centre, one of the busier east-side hawker centres with a few cult stalls. ๐
Hon Ni Kitchen, nasi lemak. We went at around 1pm and most ingredients were already sold out, the sign of a popular nasi lemak stall (the good ones run out by early afternoon). Funnily enough, we didnโt know that Meryl (@iammeryl) had been featured a couple of years back as well, in this AsiaOne roundup of cheap-and-good local breakfast stalls: 10 best hawker and kopitiam stalls.

137 Lor Mee. Ordered the fried fish lor mee ($3), and the standard is still the same as before. Lor mee (ๅค้ข) is the Hokkien braised-noodle dish, thick yellow noodles in a dark, starchy gravy, and the fried fish here is crispy and yummy, the crunchy topping against the thick gravy. Finish it the proper way with the garlic, vinegar and chilli to cut the richness.

There is more food to explore at this hawker centre, we spotted some newer faces like Plum & Rice, to be reviewed further another time. A solid east-side hawker centre with both heritage stalls (the sold-out-by-1pm nasi lemak) and newer entrants worth coming back for.

Overall: 4.2 / 5. ๐๐๐ผ The crispy fried fish lor mee at $3 was the standout, and the nasi lemak is worth coming earlier for. Would re-visit.
