Percolate

Visit to Percolate cafe after brunch at 216 Bedok Food & Hawker Centre (refer to previous post). It was full house upon reaching, a small and cosy neighbourhood cafe tucked in the Bedok North heartlands. πŸ˜‹

Thai black coco latte ($7.50), something interesting on the menu, basically black coffee served in a coconut husk.

The coconut-husk serving is the gimmick that makes this one Instagram-worthy, and the coconut does lend a faint tropical aroma to the black coffee. It’s the kind of novelty drink that’s as much about the presentation as the caffeine.

Coco latte ($5.50), which belongs to the white coffee (milk-based) side of the menu, the smoother, creamier counterpart to the black version.

Pandan kaya croissant ($4.50), served after being heated up in a microwave. Felt that the croissant was so-so only, microwaving softens the layers so it loses that flaky, buttery crispness. Still prefer the ones from Tiong Bahru Bakery!

A cute little cafe for a relaxed coffee in the east, the coconut-husk lattes are worth a try for the novelty, though the pastries are skippable.

Overall: 3.8 / 5. πŸ˜‹πŸ‘πŸΌ Fun coconut-husk coffee in a cosy heartland cafe, though the microwaved croissant let it down. Would pop by again for the drinks.
