What we had:
- Two pints of Kronenbourg 1664 Blanc, the cloudy French wheat beer
District 10 is one of our go-to bar-restaurants for an easy evening out, and this is the drink we keep coming back to. 1664 Blanc is a witbier (wheat beer), so it pours that hazy pale gold and drinks lighter and smoother than a standard lager, with a soft citrus note and a hint of spice from the wheat. It is gentle and refreshing rather than bitter, which is exactly why it is so easy to keep ordering.
There is a reason it has become a โfavouriteโ for us: it is the kind of beer that suits a relaxed catch-up, cold and crisp, not too heavy, the sort you can happily sip through a long chat without getting fatigued by it. Served frosty in those branded tall glasses, it just goes down beautifully on a warm Singapore night.
At $10 a pint it is fair for a comfortable sit-down bar, and the familiarity is half the appeal. Some orders you just donโt need to overthink.
Overall: 4.7 / 5. ๐๐๐ผ Cold, citrusy 1664 Blanc, our easy-drinking District 10 regular. Would order again and again.
