District Sushi!

First-time visit to District Sushi! ๐Ÿ˜‹

District Sushi is a value-focused Japanese donburi spot at Sunshine Plaza on Bencoolen Street, the kind of order-by-sheet eatery known for generous, affordable chirashi bowls that draw the lunch queues.

The order sheet:

The specials:

We asked the staff about the difference between the bara chirashi don and the super bara chirashi don, 5 vs 10 ingredients! The โ€œbara chirashiโ€ is the scattered-sashimi rice bowl, diced raw fish and seafood over sushi rice, and the super version simply doubles the variety.

Super bara chirashi don ($20), ten different diced toppings over sushi rice, a colourful, generous spread of raw fish and seafood, the value chirashi that District Sushi is known for:

Unagi tamago don ($16), grilled eel with tamago (sweet egg) over rice, the cooked alternative for the non-raw eater:

The complimentary salmon miso soup, a nice touch that rounds out the meal:

Not too bad, fresh fish and a genuinely generous super chirashi for the price. Will revisit to try out other specials.
