A relaxed sit-down Saturday lunch with BB, the kind of unhurried weekend meal that comes as a little set: soup, a main, and dessert. ๐Ÿ˜‹

What we had:

The soup was a lovely opener, a smooth, vivid-green blend (pea and broccoli sort of thing) with a glug of oil swirled on top and a handful of croutons for crunch. Light and fresh, it set the meal up nicely.

The grilled chicken was the star: cooked hard so the skin and glaze caught and charred at the edges, sticky and savoury, with the meat staying juicy underneath. The sweet, tender baby carrot and the little tangle of microgreens dressed it up and made it feel a notch above a casual plate.

Dessert sealed it. The cheesecake sat on a biscuit base, creamy and not too sweet, topped with glossy fresh blueberries and dotted with a berry coulis. A proper full-stop to the meal.

Nothing rushed, nothing fussy, just a well-put-together weekend lunch that hit every course right.
