What we had:

The joy of fondue is in the doing. You spear a piece, swirl it through the warm chocolate until it is fully coated, then try to get it to your mouth before it drips. The chocolate here was smooth and glossy, kept at that perfect just-melted temperature so it clung in a thick layer rather than running off.

Each dipper brought something different. The strawberries were the classic, their tartness cutting through the sweetness. The banana went soft and almost caramel-like under the warm chocolate, the green apple stayed crisp and sharp for contrast, and the marshmallows turned into pillowy, melty bites. Working through the plate slowly, chatting between dips, is the whole point.

Doing this in Switzerland, home of some of the world’s best chocolate, made a simple dessert feel like a proper occasion.

Overall: 4.9 / 5. 😋👍🏼 Silky warm chocolate with fruit and marshmallows, a fun and indulgent Swiss treat. Would happily do it again.
