Sausage rosti (CHF 19 each) & Draft beer (5dl: CHF 5.50 each)!

Dinner on our Switzerland trip: sausage rosti (CHF 19 each) + draft beer, 5dl (CHF 5.50 each). 🍺😋 Hearty Swiss pub fare at the source.

What we had (CHF 49 total, ~SGD$68):

Rosti is the Swiss potato classic: grated, parboiled potato pressed into a thick round and pan-fried until the outside turns golden and crisp while the inside stays soft, basically the best hash brown you’ve ever had, scaled up to a meal. Topped with a hearty Swiss sausage (and here a savoury gravy), it’s exactly the kind of warm, filling comfort food you crave after a day out in the cold mountain air.

The draft beers came in proper European 500ml pours, crisp Swiss lager to wash it all down. At CHF 5.50 (around SGD$7.60) a beer, it’s pricier than back home, but that’s just Switzerland, and the generous size softened the blow.

Simple, rustic and deeply satisfying, it was one of those travel meals that tastes all the better for being eaten where it belongs.

Overall: 4.8 / 5. 😋👍🏼 Crisp golden rosti, a hearty sausage and a cold Swiss draft, proper comfort food at the source. Would happily eat this all over Switzerland.
