English (buffet) breakfast!
A hotel buffet breakfast on the Europe trip: scrambled eggs, sausages, hash brown, mushrooms and tomatoes, with a chocolate croissant, cake and orange juice.
Fuelling up for a day of sightseeing with BB: the English buffet breakfast at our hotel on the Europe trip. 🍳😋
What I piled on:
- A hot plate: scrambled eggs, sausages, sliced sausage, a hash brown, sautéed mushrooms and cherry tomatoes
- A chocolate croissant, a slice of chocolate cake and a chocolate tart
- A glass of orange juice
The buffet breakfast is one of the quiet joys of travelling: you wander the spread and build a plate of exactly what you fancy, then go back for more. My hot plate had all the cooked-breakfast comforts: soft, buttery scrambled eggs, savoury sausages, a crispy hash brown, and mushrooms and tomatoes for a bit of freshness, everything warm and hearty.
Then, because it is a holiday, a second plate of sweets: a flaky chocolate croissant, a wedge of rich chocolate cake and a little chocolate tart. A glass of fresh orange juice to wash it all down.
Loading up like this is the savvy traveller’s move, eat a big breakfast and you can power through the day and skip a proper lunch. Generous, varied and comforting, it set the morning up perfectly.
Overall: 4.7 / 5. 😋👍🏼 A generous cooked breakfast plus pastries and cake, the ideal travel-day fuel-up. Would re-do at every hotel.
