Five Oars Coffee Roasters!
First visit to Five Oars Coffee Roasters: mocha ($6), white coffee ($5.50) and a white forest cake slice ($8.50). Crowded weekend cafe, good coffee.
First-time visit to Five Oars Coffee Roasters! The cafe had a short queue and was pretty crowded on a weekend afternoon. π
Five Oars is a specialty-coffee cafe that roasts its own beans, the kind of place where the coffee programme is the point and the brunch and cakes are the supporting cast. A crowded weekend is the usual state for a cafe with its own roast and a steady following.
The menu:

The variety selection of cakes in the display:

Mocha (7oz: $6), the chocolate-and-espresso combination, the cocoa rounding the coffee for the sweeter-tooth order.

White coffee (7oz: $5.50), the milk-forward, smoother pull, letting the beanβs rounder notes come through.

White forest cake ($8.50), the white-chocolate cousin of black forest, the cherry-and-cream sponge for the dessert course.

The total damage:

The coffee is good, which is the whole point of a roastery cafe, and the cake rounded out a relaxed weekend afternoon. Overall not bad, and we will revisit.
Overall: 4.1 / 5. πππΌ Good coffee from an own-roast cafe, the white coffee the pick. Would re-visit.
