A festive cafe afternoon with BB: long black ($4+) + original waffle ($5+) + candy cane chocolate ($4.50+) + white chrysanthemum ($4.50+). ☕🎄😋
What we ordered (~$21 nett):
- A long black and a warm original waffle.
- A candy cane chocolate (the Christmas special).
- A white chrysanthemum tea.
The original waffle was the comforting centrepiece, crisp-edged and fluffy, the kind you want warm and plain so it can soak up a bit of butter and syrup. With it, BB took the long black, a clean, concentrated double-shot over hot water, the right no-frills coffee to balance the sweet waffle.
The seasonal pick was the candy cane chocolate: a festive hot chocolate with a peppermint twist (candy canes being the red-and-white peppermint Christmas sweet), so it tasted like a warm, minty-chocolate hug, very Christmassy. To round it off, the white chrysanthemum tea was the gentle, floral, caffeine-free option, lightly sweet and cooling, a nice palate-cleanser against all the chocolate and sugar.
A cosy, festive little spread, the sort of thing that’s extra nice to settle into during the year-end season.
Overall: 4.7 / 5. 😋👍🏼 A crisp original waffle, a clean long black and a fun peppermint candy cane chocolate, festive and comforting. Would re-visit.
