Milksha is the Taiwanese chain known for using fresh milk rather than powder, and you can taste the difference here. The base is a fragrant oolong tea, that semi-fermented Chinese tea sitting between green and black, with a lovely toasty, floral character that comes through clearly rather than being buried under sweetness.
Blended with milk, it turns creamy and rounded, the oolong still leading the way so it tastes properly tea-forward, not just like sweet milk. The frothy cap on top adds a soft, silky layer to sip through. It is the kind of drink that is comforting without being cloying, and you can have it less sweet to really let the tea shine.
It is a clean, well-made cup, and at $3.80 it is great value next to the pricier bubble tea chains. A reliable, fragrant tea-and-milk drink that Iโd happily order again.
