It’s a simple but well-judged combination: the white chocolate cream brings a smooth, milky sweetness, while the strawberry cuts it with a tart-sweet fruitiness so it doesn’t get cloying, all sitting in a buttery, crumbly pastry shell for a bit of texture. Approachable, comforting, the kind of pick-me-up you grab on a whim and end up really enjoying.
What I love is that for $1.50 you get a proper little dessert, no need for a fancy patisserie or a sit-down cafe bill. Singapore’s heartland bakeries do this kind of affordable, everyday sweet so well, and this one punched well above its price.
