Biscuit milk tea is the bubble tea trend that takes the cookie-into-milk drinking ritual and turns it into a finished drink. The base is the standard milk tea (black tea, fresh milk, sweetener), with crushed biscuit cookies (usually Lotus Biscoff or graham cracker-style) mixed into or sprinkled on top of the drink. Some versions add caramelised cookie syrup for extra cookie depth.
The base tea was the standard chain milk tea — properly brewed black tea, fresh milk, sweetener at 50%. Strong tea character coming through the milk, with the dairy doing structural rather than masking work.
The biscuit element was the headline. Crushed cookie pieces sprinkled on top of the tea, with smaller cookie crumbs mixed through the body of the drink. The cookie flavour reads as the caramelised-cinnamon-spiced cookie that Lotus Biscoff defines — that signature speculoos profile is distinctive enough that even smaller amounts come through clearly.
Drinking with the fat straw means each suck pulls up tea, milk, and cookie crumbs together. The cookie crumbs aren’t pearls — they’re smaller and they soften slightly as they sit in the tea, eventually dissolving into the drink. The longer you wait, the cookie-r the tea base gets.
The drink eats more like a dessert than a tea. The cookie sweetness combines with the milk tea richness to create something closer to a liquid cookie than a refreshing afternoon drink. Not the format for hot weather; better suited for the cooler afternoon stops.
At $4.90 this is fair chain bubble tea pricing — slightly above the standard milk tea ($3-4) because of the cookie ingredient cost.
The bubble tea trend cycle keeps generating new formats. Biscuit milk tea is the 2020 iteration; brown sugar pearl was the 2019; cheese tea was the 2018. Each one a small variation on the format.
Overall: 4.4 / 5. 😋👍🏼 Solid biscuit milk tea — would re-order in moderation.
