Saturday afternoon Orchard wander with BB. The artisan gelato spot was running a February 2020 1-for-1 promo, which is the kind of math I cannot say no to.
We ordered:
- Avocado Coconut gelato
- Pink Rose gelato
Total: $7 via 1-for-1 promo (basically the price of one cone for two).
Avocado Coconut was the savoury-leaning pick. Pale green base with the unmistakable creamy avocado weight, finished with toasted coconut flakes for crunch and that tropical edge. Not too sweet — the coconut milk keeps it dessert without going overboard. The kind of flavour I always end up wanting after I’ve had it once.
Pink Rose was the floral pick. Real rosewater aroma, faint pink colour, gentle sweetness, with a clean finish that doesn’t linger like perfume. Done badly it tastes like a soap shop; done well it tastes like a Persian dessert. This was done well.
The pairing worked because the two were different enough to keep you interested. Eating both in alternating spoonfuls was the move.
At $7 for two scoops via the Feb promo, this is a real Orchard-area steal. Full price each scoop is closer to $7 alone.
