Back at Chicha San Chen (吃茶三千) with BB for another 2-for-$3 run. This time we picked their Dong Ding Oolong Fresh Milk with bubbles. 😍
What was on the table (2 for $3):
- Two clear cups of Dong Ding Oolong fresh milk tea — beige-toned, creamy, with the unmistakable roasty-floral fragrance of Dong Ding oolong coming through under the milk.
- A generous layer of chewy black tapioca pearls (boba) sitting at the bottom of each cup — fresh, glossy, with proper QQ bite.
- The signature green-strip seal on top — proper freshly-pressed presentation.
Dong Ding is one of the more delicate Taiwanese oolongs — the milk version smoothed out the roastiness and made it dangerously drinkable.
Total: $3 for both cups.
Overall: 4.4 / 5. The tea fragrance was the standout — clearly using actual Dong Ding leaves, not just generic black tea. Pearls were fresh and chewy. 2-for-$3 is unbeatable value. 😋👍🏼
